Storage conditions for wooden living room furniture mainly include temperature, humidity, ventilation, light and space requirements.
Temperature requirements: The indoor temperature should be controlled between 18℃ and 24℃. Too high temperature (over 28℃) will cause the moisture content of wooden furniture to drop rapidly, causing wood shrinkage and cracking, affecting the structural stability of the furniture; too low temperature (below 10℃) will make some synthetic materials such as plastic furniture brittle and prone to breakage.
Humidity requirements: Relative humidity should be maintained at 40% to 60%. Too high humidity (over 70%) will cause wooden furniture to mold and metal parts to rust; too low humidity (below 30%) will cause the wooden part of the furniture to dry out and crack due to water loss. For solid wood furniture, the ideal humidity range is 50%-60%.
Ventilation requirements: Good ventilation conditions need to be maintained indoors, and the number of air changes per hour should reach 0.5 to 1. Effective ventilation can reduce the concentration of harmful gases in the room, prevent harmful substances such as formaldehyde and benzene emitted by furniture from accumulating indoors, and protect furniture and human health.
Lighting requirements: Furniture should avoid long-term direct sunlight, and the direct sunlight time should not exceed 2 hours per day. Ultraviolet rays will cause the surface coating of furniture to fade and age, especially leather and fabric furniture. Long-term exposure will accelerate its aging and damage.
Space requirements: When placing furniture, leave at least 10 cm of space around it to ensure air circulation and avoid abnormal local temperature and humidity due to narrow space, which will affect the service life of furniture.
